    FUN FUN FUN

This weekend I spent all of Saturday with Grandma and Grandpa.

We went to Milliken Park and had an ice cream, we also went for walks and shopping.

Grandma made me those yummy meatballs for dinner and I even got to stay up late.

Today Mommy and Daddy bought me a DORA pool and I was splashing around all afternoon.

    I had a BLAST of a weekend!!!
    May 09

    Almost a month later...

Okay so it has been a long time, but who would have known that raising a child and working full time was so time consuming?LOL
VAnessa is now 13+ months old and she is crawling, pulling herself to a stand and even taking steps when holding her hands.  SHe thinks she can let go and walk on her own, but not yet!  SHe has her own language, don't know what it is but she does have some words she uses a lot DADA being her favourite.  SHe says Bella ( a friend's dog), Kayla (daycare child), Hi!, Bye!, OH OH, NO!, MAMA, TWEET TWEET ( bird), OOK( book), andmany more weird sounds, that I haven't yet decipher!
The best part of all is the one that causes Mom the biggest headache, 12 teeth!!

Yes you read correctly, that means that so far the wonderful little fairy has been around these many times!  Trust me its no picnic!LOL

But she is a sweetheart who loves animals and is always SMILING.  If I know one thing and one thing only? I have done one good thing in my life and that would have to be VAnessa.  When you meet her, you'll love her too.  SHe is so sweet and so happy.  You know she caresses your cheeks when you tell her to be "soft" and after teaching her about combing her hair if you tell her to make you look "nice" she will comb your hair.  I love her with all my life- and I know you know this but it is nights like tonight that I think I am so lucky to have her.
That despite the stretch marks, the belly fat and the orange peel skin, I have one wonderful little person to hold at night and there is only one of her.  Tonight I saw 4 girls my age in such great shape, and talking about their trips to Dominican and their tan lines and the latest club.  I felt a dagger through my heart, thinking I feel like I am 50 years old around them, and I look it too.  I think my mood has never dropped so far and so instantly.  So I drove home from the pool with a very long face only to hear a little mumble over the Baby Monitor and my eyes lit up and I was happy again.   What a wonderful little being, that can make you forget everything bad in this world and can only push you to be your best and do your best, a little person that brings out the best in you, LOVE!
    I love you MONKEY!!!!

    Not much...

Image Hosted by ImageShack.usHello Everybody!  Thank you for still coming around, I love to read the comments, even if I am not blogging much.  I promise I'll get back into it and I'll do a tour of MSN Spaces and visit you soon- promise!

What has been happening so far?  Not much, life has kinda slowed down a bit, thank God!
Vanessa started to go to the daycare last friday, she went for an hour and twenty minutes.  I have to tell you it wasn't too easy and I did hesitate the entire time.  I missed her and noticed the difference but I am doign very good.  I am taking her again this Friday but for a little longer, this way she gets used to it more.  She really likes it there, and she loves the animals there too.  Vanessa's favourite show is ZOBOOMAFOO, so I think that is why she is so drawn to animals.  I will have a video of her probably next week and I will post it, so keep checking.

This weekend I am making a whole bunch of baby food with Vanessa's Grandma and I can't wait.  I am even gonna attempt applesauce!

WEll, I thought I'd share another song with you, this is an awesome song.  Vanessa loves it and she actually seems to like SHAKIRA! Yeah, I found that so funny, she sings to her music everytime I put it on, specially when it is in Spanish! LOL
Scroll down to the Music List to find the song SHAKIRA's LA PARED, I am including lyrics for you to follow along.  MUAHH! and thanks for coming by!

    Shakira ~ LA PARED
Eres como una predicción de las buenas
Eres como una dosis alta en las venas

Y el deseo gira en espiral
Porque mi amor por ti es total
    Y es para siempre

    Después de ti la pared
    No me faltes nunca
    Debajo el asfalto

    Y mas abajo estaría yo

    Después de ti la pared
    No me faltes nunca
    Debajo el asfalto

    Y mas abajo estaría yo
    Sin ti

Eres la enfermedad y el enfermero
    Y ya me has convertido
    En tu perro faldero
    Sabes que sin ti
    Ya yo no soy
Sabes que a donde vayas voy

    Naturalmente
    Después de ti la pared
    No me faltes nunca
    Debajo el asfalto
    Y mas abajo estaría yo

    Después de ti la pared
    No me faltes nunca
    Debajo el asfalto
    Y mas abajo estaría yo
    Sin ti

Did you say HAPPY new year?

So the Christmas holidays were great, as you can tell by the few pictures I have posted but its not all fun and games. Let me tell you. Image Hosted by ImageShack.us 2006 came with a BANG!, at least in our house.  Let's see... so far Michael (hubby) contracted the flu (influenza) and spent most of New Year's eve in the emergency room and got home at 11pm.  He has been sick since Boxing Day and he is finally feeling well enough to return to work tomorrow.
    But wait, that's not all!
Yesterday I booked an appointment with Vanessa's pediatrician because the last week or so she hasn't been herself and her appetite is out of whack.  I was running late for the appointment and,  as I was trying to tighten the straps of her car seat Image Hosted by ImageShack.usand hand her a toy at the same time... I JAMMED and TWISTED my right thumb.  I thought I'd broken it and it was so painful I started to cry and so did Vanessa, I guess I scared her.  So out we go, to the doctors.  I am driving  and trying to keep an ice bag on my hand, Michael trying not to feel car sick and at the same time calm down an upset baby.

So we headed to a walk in clinic  where we spent the next 2 hours, to find out I sprained my thumb.  Take a look, the bruises came out today and it is still swollen and it still hurts.

So how does this happen?  Who did we piss off so much, to get a New Year like this?  Who knows?
There are ONLY 2 good things that have happened so far and one is that nothing was wrong with Vanessa
and the doctor was very pleased with her.   The second good thing is that  I got a tattoo, I'll post pics later.
So... HAPPY NEW YEAR?, uhmm, not too sure!

I'm happy to report that Vanessa has woken up today in a great mood!

I think I got my little darlin baby back.

I am telling you, she is like night and day from the last few days.

    SURPRISE! SURPRISE!

This morning, Vanessa and I had a visit from a FAIRY I think you all know very well...

    Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

You guessed it! Vanessa's first tooth !!!

I noticed it just a little while ago, while I was wiping her chin and I thought it was spit up.  Well I put my finger in her mouth and guess what? Its sharp, ouch!!  So I tried to take a picture but let me tell you, it wasn't easy.  So here is the best I could do...

Can you see the white tip where it ripped through?  I cannot believe it!  Just yesterday she was a little bundle that did nothing but looked at me with those huge green eyes while cooing and now, she is as alert as ever, active and with a tooth!
    WOW!
As you might have noticed, she has two (2) bumps, so the other tooth cannot be too far behind
    Here we go again!

    a belly full of laughs!

This should cheer you up, anyone for that matter!!

It turns out that Vanessa is as ticklish as her mother!

This means that she is VERY ticklish and EVERYWHERE tickles.

She has such a funny laugh, and I thought I'd share with

you guysI think this would be a cheerful little clip for you to

    listen as you Space-Hop!

Vanessa will be 5 months old this Saturday

the 3rd and she has been teething since she

turned 3 months old.  She got her ears pierced

on Saturday past! I haven't forgotten about

it, I am just trying to get good pics of her

little ears. She looks so adorable with earrings.

I'll tell you a bit about the ordeal.

    My mother-in-law accompanied me-thank God!

We had it done at People's Jewelers in Fairview

Mall.  She spit up right before they did it.  She

cried her "pain cry" and of course, I along side

with her had a few tears coming down.

I comforted her for a few minutes and than

she was fine!  She was even giggling with

the girls that had pierced her ears!  I was the

one being comforted by the staff

Get this!  Before they actually pierced her ears,

one of the girls was rubbing my arm

saying “relax mom, she'll be fine"; I am such a chicken.  That's why I said I was glad my

mother-in-law came with me, cause she

held her head steady, if I was alone I would

have chickened out.  Vanessa doesn’t usually

cry a lot, unless she is hurt or hungry,

so making her cry that distinct cry breaks my

    heart- I am a COWARD!!!

    A Day @ St. Brigid's

Today Vanessa and I revisited my work and she got to meet alot of the people I work with.  She was alert and  smiling at everyone.  I was so proud of her, she behaved so good, only fussed near the end -close to her feeding time and was a bit upset on the way home (1/2 hr past her feeding) but we made it home and I had to wake her up to feed-go figure!!

Anyways Thanks to everyone @ St. Brigid's and it was good to see everyone today.  I miss being at work but I love being home with my baby girl!!!  She is precious, isn't she?  Well if you are reading this please sign my Guestbook before you leave!

    HAPPY FATHER'S DAY EVERYONE!!!

    UPDATES

We just came back from our walk and it is hot! - 26 celsius

We've been managing to walk at least 3x/week and for 20 minutes each.  Its good to finally get out there.  She stays alert for the most part of our walk and sometimes the entire thing.  She does sleep afterwards though- poor thing all exhausted.

She slept so much in the last 20 hours, I was amazed.  Who knew, I even got to watch a movie from beginning to end- uninterrupted and managed some zzzzz's afterwards.  Please Don't Jinks me!(lol)

So today is Liesel's first day on Maternity Leave- enjoy it girl and rest, rest ,rest.  Michelle's B-Day on Saturday- Have a good one.  By the way Michelle, you can't imagine what I had to go through to get you a card!- you'll see!

I am going for Dental Surgery on Friday and I am so nervous.  I HATE the DRILL and this time I am not being put out.  Luckily I can resume breastfeeding that evening.  HELP ME!!! I don't want to go!!

On a side note.. Did you know that dEntist have the highest suicide rate of any profession?  No wonder!

Take CAre everyone and enjoy the HEATand have a cold one for me!
